A big thank you from us at Tea & Make for all your support during 2010, whether you have taken part as a designer-maker, or as a punter! We've had a really fun time with you all at our events - this year we have been privileged to produce a Friday Late event for the V&A; run workshops at our favourite local event, Dulwich Festival Fair; produce our first Fete outside of London, at the wonderful Ye Old Ferrie Inn in Herefordshire; and made our dreams come true by opening a shop (albeit for 2 weeks only) in New Cross, London.
We have lots of exciting things planned for 2011, so we will keep you posted on news, but for now, have a very Happy Christmas, and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon!!
Love from Tea & Make xx

Late Night Shopping This Wednesday
Come join us for some wine or a beer (thank you Fullers!) and a shop next Wednesday evening, and make a dent in that Christmas pressie buying. We know how tempting it is to spend weekends at home keeping cosy and watching Elf at the moment, so why not pop in on your way home from work for a shop! We'll be gift-wrapping free of charge too of course!

Hello all - just to let you know that if you haven't booked a place with us for tonight's workshop, and were planning on coming along, we have unfortunately decided to cancel it due to the bad (but very pretty!) weather - at the moment public transport is a bit hit and miss in London! We'll keep you informed if we re-schedule it, but for now the shop is still open for your Christmas purchasing.

Our first day of trading...
Here's a little preview of what to expect at the Pop-Up - today was chilly but so much fun - we're not going to want to leave!

At the Pop-Up... Helen Rawlinson
We need some extra lighting to brighten up the shop (as well as the obligatory twinkly white fairy lights at this time of year of course!) and we're really happy that we've got Helen Rawlinson's beautiful screen-printed and machine stitched lamp shades and lamps for exactly that job. Her simple but striking graphic style also extends to totes and tea towels - great Christmas gifts so why not treat yourself to the lighting?

At the Pop-Up... Annabelle Hartmann & Kenn Munk
Tea & Make favourites Annabelle Hartmann & Kenn Munk have previously worked with us under 'The Artic' - some of you may have made their polar bear masks at last year's Tea & Make summer fete, and some of you may have made a 'Monster for London' at Tea & Make's V&A Friday Late back in Spring. But at the Pop-Up, you'll find Annabelle & Kenn's individual designs in a purer form. Their design exploration ranges from delicately pretty porcelain tiles featuring Annabelle's sketches, through to Kenn's 'Antlor Kit's, for making your own carboard stag head trophies with a difference. And oh, their designs for the limited edition shop bags? Absolutely amazing!! They'll go fast!

At the Pop-Up... randomretail.co.uk
Really chuffed to have Random Retail at the shop - we've long admired their beautiful designs, and have seen them pop up in all kinds of style institutions, including The Hambledon and Anthropologie, over the last couple of years. The very clever Joy Jolliffe produces all of the hand-pulled, screenprinted designs herself in her Isle of Wight studio and then daughter Holly Jolliffe produces beautiful photographs of it all - a winning combination!

.
to their Hand Screen Printed blue 'off license' carrier bags from their exhibition 'The All London Blue Bag Extravaganza'...
to their Burger Vinyl Bags...
We're particularly looking forward to their 'New Cross' collection - intrigued? You'll have to wait and see - come to the shop!

At the Pop-Up... strikk handknits
Really looking forward to meeting Tanya, the clever lady behind strikk (Norwegian for knit) handknits - we know you're frantically knitting away for the shop Tanya - hope you aren't still up tonight as I type this!
From shocking pink cable knit cushions to cosy hot water bottle covers in delicious colours like steely greys and warm spicy oranges, they'll make perfect Christmas pressies for friends and family... as well as a treat to your home. What you'll love the most is that that Tanya uses where possible, yarn that has been hand-dyed and spun by previously disadvantaged South African women in job creation programs. Style with a conscience!

At the Pop-Up... Jill
The lovely Jill Green will be joining us at the Pop-Up and her work is juuuuuust lovely! Discovered at the little Telegraph Hill Craft Fair, Jill is a New Cross local, specialising in screenprinting beautiful leather goods - purses, Oyster card holders, and also cards and prints. Naturally our favourite has to be the rabbit print - and we're predicting that the white rabbit on gold (metallic) purse is going to be a sell-out piece! www.shopjill.com

At The Pop-Up... Rose Choules
We've never had a shoe designer at a Tea & Make event before and we're really excited to have London-based Rose Choules and her gorgeous made-to-order mocassins with us at the pop-up in a few weeks time. She'll also have a few some "ready to go" designs there too with gloriously yummy floral fabric linings...
Her collaboration with a fabric designer on the floral fabric for her moccasins, also extends to some extremely smart canvas and leather tote and shopper bags as well as jewellery wraps which feature the floral fabric in their lining - can't wait to see them!

Pop-Up Shops
Yesterday's article in The Guardian (read it here) meant we just couldn't wait any longer to tell you about our latest project... Tea & Make will be 'popping-up' in New Cross, London for two weeks only, from Saturday 27th November until Saturday 11th December.
We have some really AMAZING designer-makers joining us (some of which we are welcoming to Tea & Make for the first time) and we are very happy that the lovely Barbara Frankie Ryan is joining us again, and is busy designing our flyer this time - we cannot wait to see what she comes up with!
We'll be posting details over the next few weeks, but for now put the dates in your diary - we would LOVE to see you all there :)
